I still remember the day I found out I was pregnant with my son. I was so excited and thrilled. Life seemed like a fairy tale. Well, we all know life doesn’t always turn out that way. I was in an abusive, controlling relationship, and after my son was born it wasn’t getting better. I left my son’s father and went to a women’s shelter. That day I also found out I was pregnant with my second child. After five months of struggling, my prayers were answered when I came to AMH. In March 2016, my daughter was born. Since coming to AMH, I have my confidence back and I am now a happy person. I have become a better mom, a better person and a better friend.  I have learned to have my own mind and my own decisions. I look forward to my future now and not worry about my future.
